Happy Monday!
This week’s book is
This is a classic book about learning to play the game of money. It was written in 1937 and the advice it gives is timeless. Here we go:
1. Purpose
The one quality one must possess to win: definiteness of purpose, knowledge of what one wants, and a burning desire to possess it.
2. Mind-set
No one has ever been defeated until defeat has been accepted as a reality. Your greatest weakness is lack of self-confidence.
Temporary defeat is not permanent failure.
3. Adding Value
Industrialists and leaders of business accumulate great fortunes, by giving before they try to get.
Poverty and riches are the offspring of thought.
4. Accumulation
Knowledge will not attract money unless it is organized and intelligently directed through practical plans of action to the definite end of accumulation of money.
Knowledge is only potential power. Applied knowledge is power.
5. Service
Adequacy of quality and quantity of service is not enough to maintain.
The spirit in which you deliver service is a determining factor.
6. Crowd-Influence
If you are influenced by the opinions of others, you will have no desire of your own.
Be sure that you choose only those who will be in complete sympathy and harmony with your purpose.
7. Results
Tell the world what you intend to do, but first show it.
Knowing what you want is the most important step.
8. Achieving
Persistence, concentration of effort and definiteness of purpose are the sources of major achievements.
9. Authenticity
One of the blessings of maturity is that it sometimes brings one greater courage to be truthful, regardless of what those who do not understand may think or say.
10. Attitude
The only thing you can control is a state of mind. It cannot be purchased; it must be created.
Keep your mind closed against all people who depress or discourage you in any way. Seek the company of people who influence you to think and act for yourself.
This is it for today’s takeaways, I hope any of them helps you become at least 1% better.
